What to See on Your Trip to Amathous Bay
A Trip to Amathous is an extremely popular holiday option in Cyprus. It is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Cyprus. There are many great places to see and things to do in Larnaca. You will be able to spend time at some of its fine restaurants or simply laze on the beaches as they have wonderful scenery surrounding them. There are a number of different ways that you can travel to Larnaca including travelling by road, rail and air.
If you are traveling from Cyprus via air then the next day journey to Larnaca is a great way to enjoy the beautiful Cyprus weather. There are two airports in Cyprus; the Nicosia International airport, which is 12 kilometres from Larnaca and the Venetian Airport which is ten kilometres from Larnaca. Both of these airports offer good transport links to the major towns which are as follows; Nicosia, Paphos, Kefalonia and Kilkenny. Once you arrive in Cyprus, it is a good idea to arrange a car hire from any of these important towns to ensure that you are arriving at your destination quickly and in any form of comfort.
A journey from Cyprus via road will take you to Nicosia, which is a busy capital city. The main buildings are a blend of Greek and Turkish architecture and there are plenty of historical sights to be seen. In addition to the main buildings there is also the highly attractive Dali Museum, which is situated on the opposite side of the pedestrianised Larnaca street. The museum exhibits a wide range of objects from around the world which include some of the worlds most famous paintings such as those by Monet and Van Gogh.
When you reach the coast road just opposite the Dali Museum, turn right and follow the path straight ahead until you come to a wooden fisherman’s hut which is at the end of the beach. This is where you are likely to come across the most exquisite shells that are washed up onto the beach. Some of these shells date back as far as the eighteen hundreds and the majority of them are made from oyster. As, well as the shells you are likely to find a variety of other beach treasures including seashells, anchors and nets, glass beads and silver jewellery. You are also very likely to find bottles of Cyprus water from the year one which can make a great souvenir for any excursion to Cyprus.
The next stop on your Cyprus trip is Larnaca, which is a vibrant city and the nearest international airport to it. The most prominent building in Larnaca is the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, which serves as a major tourist attraction. There are many different types of hotels in Larnaca, which can all be reached by taking the country roads and following any public transport links that are available. If you would like to get a good night’s sleep, then you should stay in one of the many Larnaca hotels which are scattered around the main city areas.
When you visit Amathous Bay you will be able to view the best part of Cyprus, the coast. You can spend two full days relaxing on the beach and exploring all that Cyprus has to offer. As well as all the activities on the beach, you are likely to come across some great diving sites which are only a stones throw away from the beach.
